COMMON QUESTIONS
Q: Do I need to be in good shape? A: The City Chase combines a variety of mental and physical challenges. If you come to a ChasePoint that is too challenging, you always have the option of looking for another one. Teams must complete only 10 of 12-15 ChasePoints. Most of the physical demands of the event will be travelling between ChasePoints. Some teams choose to run, others walk, and some plan their route strategically in order to utilize as much public transit as possible.
Q: How well do I need to know the city? A: It's a benefit, but it's also expected that you'll learn on the fly. A smart team with a good map and a working knowledge of the transit system will certainly compete for the crown.
Q: What is The City Chase "Shake-5"? A: Think about it as a combination of your typical hand shake and a high-5. The "Shake-5" is often used by participants in every City Chase event as a greeting, a sign of encouragement, and a way of saying thank you, with other teams, staff and volunteers, and even total strangers who are encountered throughout the day.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Identification: You don't want someone else walking away with your race packet.
Water: There are no water stations on the course because there's no set course.
Energy Bars: In case you get hungry on the course. You never know what kind of food we are going to provide, or not!
Detailed Map: A map with a street finder would be handy.
Transit Book/Schedule: Good to know how to get from point A to point B in the fastest time
Spare Cash: For lunch, snacks, stuff ...
Paper and Pen: In case you need to write something down along the way.
Mobile Phone: This could come in handy for so many reasons ... bring one if you can!

CHASEPOINTS Q: Is there a preset course that participants need to follow in The City Chase? A: No. Teams are free to chart their own course between ChasePoints throughout the event. In fact, in order to miss delays at busy ChasePoints close to the Start Line, some teams opt to go to the furthest one and work their way back.
Q: How do I find out the exact location of each ChasePoint? A: Each team will be given a Clue Sheet describing the list of the ChasePoints near the start of the event. The list will provide you with the exact location of some of the ChasePoints while providing only puzzles or clues or equations that will lead you to others.
Q: What happens if there is a line up? A: It is very common to be faced with line-ups in every day urban life and it is no different in this event. With hundreds of teams hitting the city at once, line-ups are inevitable. Plan your route carefully and remember … you always have the option to move on to the next ChasePoint.
Q: What happens if I can't find a ChasePoint? A: Keep looking. Be resourceful. Call for help. Ask other teams for support. If you're still stuck, you can always move on to find another ChasePoint ... you only need to complete 10 out of 12-15.
Q: Do we have to eat any gross food? Do I have to touch a scary animal? A: To officially complete City Chase you must complete only 10 of the ChasePoints available. It is up to you which ChasePoints you complete, and in which order you do them.

Q: Can I register without a partner? A: Yes, you can! But the entire team entry fee is due at the time of registration. You may change your teammate up until the day before the event but you must ensure that the correct information is recorded when reporting at the pre-race check-in.
